LeBron James is the most hated man in basketball. The Lakers’ big three of LeBron, Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson have been a disaster on the court. Despite all that, the Lakers are still one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

Urban Meyer’s predicament in Jacksonville is well-known among NFL fans. After missing the team’s flight home, an Ohio State fan captured the first-year Jacksonville Jaguars head coach on camera making a “dumb mistake” with a lady who wasn’t his wife at an Ohio pub.
So far, the news out of Duval County hasn’t been encouraging. Still, NFL insider Jason La Canfora presented a bleak image of the locker room environment in Northern Florida on CBS’s NFL Today pregame program, leading even players and other coaches to speculate that Meyer won’t make it through the season.
Another thrashing on Sunday doesn’t help matters either.

Following the release of the tapes, Urban Meyer embarked on a public apology tour. The long-serving college coach, who emphasizes responsibility, failed miserably.
Meyer stared down at the stage as he muttered a series of public apologies. He discussed skipping the team aircraft home to visit his grandchildren, and then made a passing reference to a group who wanted to take photos with him and was attempting to get him out onto the dance floor.
He also said that he had “explained and owned everything that occurred.” He also claimed to have had a “focused discussion” with the team, although this does not seem to be the case.
Following the apologies, NFL writer Michael Silver tweeted scathing comments about Meyer from Jacksonville Jaguars players.
When Meyer apologized to specific position groups rather than the whole team, the player or players claimed Meyer now has “zero credibility,” labeled him “scared,” and that the squad “started dying laughing.” Last week, the squad even broke the huddle by shouting “Grind!” at the conclusion of a session. A nod to the lady who danced with Meyer.
Shad Khan, the team’s owner, issued a statement stating he is “confidence” in Meyer going forward, but the situation seems to be deteriorating inside the company.
According to Jason La Canfora, the situation in Jacksonville is dire.

During Sunday’s CBS pregame program, NFL insider Jason La Canfora delivered a devastating exposé on the Urban Meyer issue.
While the players’ sentiments in La Canfora’s report are similar to Silver’s, the new information also revealed the views of at least some of his coaching staff. It also used strong language to describe the mood in the locker room before of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans:
Meyer was not dismissed last week, which surprised many Jaguars coaches and players… Even before choosing not to travel back to Jacksonville with the club, he was having trouble connecting with his staff and players. Meyer is widely despised inside the organization, according to several people close to the issue, and he is publicly mocked and derided by players. Meyer was urged to restore the Jaguars’ confidence in a statement issued by owner Shad Khan on Tuesday, but many of the guys who work with and play for him believe it is an impossible job right now.
Urban Meyer, according to Jason La Canfora
Meyer’s situation continues to deteriorate.
Hearing that his squad and even his coaching staff are totally against him makes you question whether he has a chance of finishing the year. La Canfora concluded by stating that both the players and the coaches are asking the same question. They’re wondering whether Meyer will be able to “survive the season.”
The Jacksonville Jaguars started out strong on Sunday, but ended up with a 0-5 record.
Here are a few inconsistencies:
Meyer has a 20-game losing streak under his belt:
“They’re eager for a victory and for the way they go to work every day, every week. I’m desperate for a victory.”
On desperation, Lawrence says:
“It’s impossible to get desperate. All you have to do now is keep going to work…”

In athletics, there is an ancient adage that “winning cures everything.” If this is the case, no one in the NFL is in more urgent need of a victory than Urban Meyer.
Meyer has the opportunity to right at least some of his wrongs on the field against the Tennessee Titans after a week of heavy criticism. Meyer’s Jacksonville Jaguars, for the fifth time this season and for the 20th time in club history, were unable to complete the task.
Meyer’s and the Jaguars’ early results were encouraging. The offense, led by rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence, equaled the Titans’ first two touchdowns (although with a failed extra point on the first one) to keep the game close at 14-13 late in the second quarter.
The wheels came off at that point.
Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins scored with just over five minutes remaining in the first half, capping a 23-6 surge that buried the Jaguars.
Meyer put it up well when discussing the squad (and maybe his own mindset after yet another loss). “Desperate for a victory, desperate for the way they show up at work every day, every week.” “I’m desperate for a victory.”
