Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers heaped praise on former rival and current Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, taking him to task for some of the recent comments that have come out of his mouth.

Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, knows a thing or two about playing in the NFL at the highest level. He also knows a thing or two about Matthew Stafford, who was his NFC North nemesis as a member of the Detroit Lions for many seasons.

Stafford has been chastised by the Los Angeles Rams after two consecutive poor performances. The Rams are still 7-3, but they’ve lost two of their last three games, and Stafford is a big reason for why.

Despite his recent problems in Los Angeles, Rodgers dismisses any of the charges leveled at his old NFC North adversary.

Stafford’s recent problems were brought up during Rodgers’ customary Tuesday long-form appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. The Packers, who are presently 8-2 and coming off a shutout of the Seattle Seahawks, will play the Minnesota Vikings next, but LA will follow. The Rams, on the other hand, are blessed with a bye week, but their next opponent is Green Bay.

After two poor games, critics are pointing fingers at Stafford, with some even saying he “stinks” and should be benched, according to McAfee.

Rodgers, for one, had a high opinion of the Rams’ quarterback.

He responded, “Those are garbage statements.” “I’m a major Stafford supporter.” I’ve been for quite some time. We’d been playing against him for a long time. He’s clearly one of the most talented football throwers of my age, and I’d place him up there with some of the most skilled football throwers of all time.”

Rodgers said, “I’m a fan.”

Matthew Stafford has dealt with adversity before.

Stafford isn’t experiencing difficulties for the first time in his career, despite his enormous skill. Stafford, the Lions’ first-round pick in 2009, was the face of the franchise for several seasons, good and terrible.

During his tenure in Detroit, he showed flashes of the enormous skill that earned him the first overall selection. Despite playing for a bad team that didn’t win many games, he was regarded as a Top 10 quarterback in terms of skill.

Stafford, on the other hand, struggled at times. He was often injured as a result of his offensive line’s lack of protection, and he was a gunslinger in the same way that Brett Favre was. That’s a beautiful way of putting it: he had a lot of interceptions.

In Detroit, he threw a total of 144 interceptions.

Stafford is a tough person who has played through some terrible injuries, according to Rodgers.

When talking about their former quarterback, the Green Bay great also took a shot at his divisional rivals.

“He spent all those years in Detroit.” With a grin, Rodgers replied, “You’ve got to have a foundation amount of mental fortitude already.”

Rodgers expresses his admiration for his forthcoming opponent.

The Packers have a difficult divisional game against Minnesota coming up, but their game versus the Rams will undoubtedly be a show-stopper. Despite their recent struggles, the Rams are still one of the best teams in the NFC, and they, like the Packers, have real Super Bowl ambitions.

Despite throwing four interceptions in the last two games, including two pick-sixes, Stafford still leads the league in passing yards with 3,014, and he is in the top three in touchdowns thrown with 24. This season, only Tom Brady (27) and Patrick Mahomes (25) have thrown more touchdowns.

For the purpose of comparison, Rodgers has passed for 2,186 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Stafford has had a “very terrific season,” according to Rodgers. “After all, they’re 7-3.” In his first year in the system, he’s performed well.”

Rodgers has faced Stafford on several occasions during his career. For as long as they’ve both been in the NFC North, they’ve squared off twice a season, so the Packers quarterback knows that this slump won’t keep LA’s quarterback down.

After the Rams’ defeat to the 49ers, Stafford essentially said the same thing. Despite losing two games in a row, the Rams remain a formidable opponent, and he remains one of the league’s best quarterbacks. Two terrible games won’t alter that, and he seems to believe he’ll be able to learn from his mistakes.

According to ESPN, Stafford stated, “We’ll spend some time thinking about it, reflecting on the first 10 games of the year and some of the good things, some of the negative, and how I can be better to help lead this team.”

Stafford has been a high-level quarterback for long enough that two awful games, no matter how horrible they were, won’t define who he is for the rest of the season.

Rodgers, of all people, understands not to ignore the Rams and their great quarterback coming off a bye week.

“I’m not here for any Matthew Stafford slams,” he said emphatically.

ESPN and Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.
