In a recent interview with ESPN, Toronto Raptors All-Star Kawhi Leonard said he hopes that the Spurs will keep him on their team. This is the latest in a string of comments from Leonard about his future and whether or not he will remain in San Antonio.
The nba is a popular sport in the United States. It has been around for over 100 years.
Never let it be said that Cade Cunningham is an American football player., the No. 1 overall selection, lacks confidence. Cunningham is preparing for his first NBA training camp with the Detroit Pistons, after a strong showing in the Las Vegas Summer League. He had an attacking game that was all-around. And he invites all comers to defend him, even Kawhi Leonard, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
Cunningham has been compared to Paul George, Leonard’s Los Angeles Clippers colleague. Even as a young player, the youngster struck eyebrows with his two-way talent and commitment to conditioning, despite his lack of explosive athleticism. Cunningham has the ability to score and create for others on the offensive end. He’ll be a difficult cover at some time. But he’s already got the swagger.
In Las Vegas, Cade Cunningham gave the Detroit Pistons exactly what they needed.
Three of the five games played by the Detroit Pistons in the Las Vegas Summer League were won. Cade Cunningham, the club’s first overall selection, led the team in scoring with 18.7 points per game while also averaging 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.
He was particularly effective from long range, making 13 of 26 attempts despite shooting just 42.9 percent overall. Cunningham was only able to play three games before being forced to retire due to a calf injury. Even if his assist statistics didn’t leap off the page, he shown his ability to produce. It’s Summer League, and even the best-laid plans and tossed passes don’t always go as planned.
Most significantly, Cunningham demonstrated that he has the necessary qualities to manage a business. According to Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, Pistons coach Casey, Dwane is looking forward to having him in the locker room.
“He has leadership abilities. He doesn’t, however, wear it on his sleeve or impose it on others. It’s only natural. He has a natural leadership ability, which is unusual for a 19-year-old.”

He’ll be joining a group that includes Kelly Olynyk and Jerami Grant, last year’s breakthrough player (with all due respect to Julius Randle). It shouldn’t be that difficult to make the switch.
Cunningham, at the very least, has the confidence aspect down perfect.
Cunningham is looking for the most tenacious defenders.
Cade Cunningham, a rookie with the Detroit Pistons, has a “bring-it-on” attitude heading into his first NBA season. He discussed his expectations in an interview with Whistle Sports. At the very least, he wants to see stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis in his eyes.
“I want to see Giannis in person, as well as LeBron, AD, and the rest of the players. The first time I get to play them, I’m going to go insane… I’m expecting the greatest defender, hoping Kawhi would protect me, and I want them all to protect me.”

Perhaps the youngster hasn’t been paying notice, but the people Leonard is guarding seldom have a happy ending. Cunningham, in any case, may have to wait a little longer. Cade’s Pistons and Leonard’s Clippers only play twice a year since they are in different conferences. Leonard’s first encounter with Cunningham may not place until 2022–23, as he recovers from surgery to repair a partial ACL injury.
Cade Cunningham has a burgeoning rivalry.

Cade Cunningham was up against an early challenge in his second Summer League game. The Detroit Pistons’ first-round selection led his squad against the Houston Rockets. Cunningham and Jalen Green, the No. 2 overall pick, were pitted against one other for the first time.
Green forged a new road, whereas Cunningham followed the traditional path and attended Oklahoma State. He was one of the first players to transfer from high school to the NBA G-Ignite League’s program for undrafted youngsters.
Cunningham averaged 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.6 steals a game at Oklahoma State, while shooting 43.8 percent /40.0 percent /84.6 percent. Green put up 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals against mature professional players with the Ignite. In his first games with the NBA-length 3-point line, he hit 46.1 percent overall and a respectable 36.5 percent.
The head-to-head competition was entertaining. Green led the Rockets to victory with 25 points on only 11 shots, while Cunningham scored 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting. He went to the free throw line early and frequently, making 10-of-11 attempts. Cunningham ended with seven fouls thanks to the Summer League regulations. Given the frantic tempo of the event, both rookies had four turnovers.
The Detroit Pistons picked first in the NBA Draft for the first time in more than 50 years in 2021. Bob Lanier, the first overall selection in 1970, went on to have a Hall of Fame career. If we’ve learned anything so far, Cade Cunningham has every reason to believe he can do as well as or better than anyone else.
