The Lakers decided to give Lonzo Ball his own two-way contract, which allows him to play in the NBA and G League. LiAngelo’s performance for the Lakers this week has been impressive. With a few more games like he had on Tuesday night, it would seem unlikely that LaVar will shut down LiAngelo before Christmas.

Lonzo and LaMelo Ball have had a lot of success in the NBA so far, but LiAngelo Ball hasn’t been able to secure a position in the league with his two brothers. Despite playing well in the Summer League, the middle brother did not make the Charlotte Hornets’ final squad this year.
Despite losing out on the opportunity to play alongside LaMelo on the Hornets, LiAngelo got his first taste of G League basketball this season. And, following a strong start for the Greensboro Swarm, he’s one step closer to an NBA reunion with his family.
LiAngelo Ball has yet to play in the NBA with his siblings.

For the most of his life, LiAngelo Ball has suffered from Middle Child Syndrome. LiAngelo was always in the background, trying to create a name for himself. Lonzo and LaMelo were always viewed as exceptional talents with a future in the NBA, but LiAngelo was always in the background trying to make a name for himself.
The 22-year-old enrolled to UCLA after Lonzo in the hopes of following him to the NBA, but he dropped out before ever playing a game. Instead, LiAngelo traveled abroad to continue playing and increase his draft value.
The California native’s choice did not go as planned. After one season with Prienu Vytautas in Lithuania, he entered the 2018 NBA Draft, but he didn’t hear his name called that night.
LiAngelo signed with the Detroit Pistons two years later, but he was cut less than two weeks after. In the Summer League earlier this year, he scored 9.6 points per game on 37.5 percent shooting for the Hornets.
The Hornets did not chose to retain LiAngelo on their regular season roster, but they did give him the chance to play for the Greensboro Swarm in the G League.
In his G League debut, LiAngelo Ball excels.
This may be LiAngelo’s best opportunity to make an NBA roster. He’s well aware of this, and he’s made a strong first impression.
LiAngelo scored 22 points in his G League debut for the Swarm on Friday night, shooting 9-of-13 from the field and 4-of-7 from three. What’s more, the most impressive aspect? Off the bench, he accomplished it in only 24 minutes.
The Swarm were defeated by the Birmingham Squadron by 11 points in the game, although LiAngelo led the squad with a +12 rating. He seemed to be comfortable shooting from three-point range and moved effectively off the ball to set up some easy goals around the hoop. The neglected sibling, who is still pursuing his passion, put up a strong overall performance.
I’m still on the lookout for a Ball family reunion.
Lonzo and LaMelo have long and successful NBA careers ahead of them, while LiAngelo is still battling for a spot three years after going undrafted. He’s closer than he’s ever been to joining his brothers for a family reunion now that he’s on Charlotte’s G League roster.
NBA clubs are constantly on the lookout for quick scorers to come off the bench. The Hornets will undoubtedly notice if LiAngelo can keep shooting the lights out for the Swarm. They have the option of calling him up to the active roster at any time.
Even if LiAngelo can secure a two-way deal with the franchise, he only needs one shot to show he belongs in the NBA with his siblings.
